Why choose a hospitality internship in Greece?
Turquoise seas, whitewashed villages, sunshine from April to October… Greece is a dream. But an internship in Greece is above all a real professional experience in one of Europe’s most tourist-friendly countries.
Every season, its hotels welcome travelers from all over the world. And they need motivated young talent to host them.
For you, it’s a chance to work in a high-end property, practice English every day, and live at a Mediterranean pace. You’ll meet colleagues and guests of many nationalities. You’ll gain independence, confidence, and open-mindedness.
The human side matters just as much. Often, you share your day-to-day life with other interns from all over Europe. You work together, discover the local culture together, and build bonds that last long after the season ends.
Greek hospitality, filoxenia, isn’t just a slogan: you experience it at work and on your days off. This international mobility helps you grow both personally and professionally.
On your CV, a season in a 4- or 5-star hotel stands out. It shows you can adapt, work as part of a team, and keep smiling in peak season. These are qualities valued across international hospitality. To go further, also check out our luxury hospitality internships.

Tourist season and available roles
In Greece, peak season generally runs from April to October. Some hotels open as early as March and close in November.
Internships follow this schedule: depending on the offer, they last from a minimum of 3.5 months to 5 or 6 months. It’s the ideal format for a summer internship in Greece, or for a long internship period between two academic years.
Roles cover most hotel departments:
- Front desk and guest welcome
- Food & beverage (food & beverage)
- Kitchen and pastry
- Spa: reception and bookings
- Entertainment for hotel guests
Properties are located on the mainland as well as on the islands. To explore the regions before you picture yourself there, the official Greek tourism website, Visit Greece, is a great source of inspiration.

Accommodation, meals, transport: what may be covered
It’s one of the big strengths of a hospitality internship. With Stud&Globe, at least one major expense is always covered: accommodation, meals, or transport. Depending on the offer, everything may even be covered.
In practice, many Greek hotels offer:
- accommodation for interns, on-site or nearby;
- meals, sometimes up to three a day;
- help with transport, depending on the property.
Some offers are also paid. For example, several current roles offer pay between €850 and €1,000 per month.
Conditions vary from one offer to another: your advisor will go through them with you before any commitment. To compare, read our article how much does an intern earn abroad.
Result: your budget on site stays under control. And you can use your days off to explore the country, its beaches, and its ancient sites.

What level of English do you need?
Good news: you don’t need to speak Greek. In tourism, English is the working language. You’ll communicate in English with your colleagues, managers, and international guests.
The expected level depends on the role. A guest-facing position, like the front desk, requires more spoken confidence than a kitchen role. In any case, every day of your internship helps you improve.
For Greece, your CV must be written in English. A few tips to make it stand out:
- highlight your experience in service, reception, or sales, even if brief;
- state your language level using the European framework (B1, B2…);
- showcase your soft skills: customer service mindset, adaptability, teamwork;
- have your CV proofread by a native English speaker if possible.
