Frequently asked questions

Madrid offers a wide range of accommodation options, from shared flats and apartments to student residences. Sites such as Idealista, Fotocasa or Milanuncios are popular for finding accommodation. You can also look for temporary accommodation in student districts such as Malasaña, Chamberí or Argüelles. Sharing a flat is often the most economical solution, and provides an opportunity to meet other international students.
Madrid is a city where there’s always something to do! Main events include:
– La Feria de San Isidro (May): Traditional celebration with bullfights, concerts and folklore events.
– Les fêtes de la Paloma (August): Popular celebration with concerts and parades in the La Latina district.
– Christmas and New Year: With markets, Christmas lights and festivities all over the city.
Madrid is a major European capital, so living here is more expensive than in some other Spanish cities. However, it’s still relatively affordable compared to other big cities like London or Paris. Accommodation, transport and food costs vary according to location, but central districts (such as Sol, Gran Vía, Chueca) can be more expensive than outlying areas. Restaurants, bars and cafés are affordable, and you’ll find plenty of local markets to shop at.
