Frequently asked questions

In Malta, the two official languages are Maltese and English. Maltese is the island’s national language, spoken by the majority of the population. English is widely spoken and understood, as Malta was a British colony until 1964. English is the main language used in business, administration and education, so most Maltese are bilingual and fluent in both languages.
Organizing an Erasmus + mobility program in Malta rather than in Ireland can offer several advantages: the cost of mobility in Malta will be more affordable than in Ireland, particularly as regards accommodation, activities and public transport. What’s more, our local partner will be on hand to assist you throughout your placement, welcoming you at the airport and accompanying you to each company on the first day. In case of emergency, they can also accompany participants (accident, illness…).
Malta has a well-developed bus network. It’s easy to get around between towns and the main tourist sites. On the other hand, bus timetables are not always respected, so we advise participants to always get on early. You’ll also have to raise your hand for the bus to stop! Our team will be happy to book your transport cards for you, so that the group can travel without restriction for the duration of the trip.
